There is a spiritual awakening spreading across the United States unlike anything we've seen in recent history. Millions of young people, primarily Gen Z and Gen Alpha, are flocking to Christianity and its values in the wake of Charlie Kirk's assassination.
As Christians, what should be our response to this? In a world where we feel the tension rising among political and spiritual issues, how do we respond? Or do we respond?
That is the very foundation of why Watchtower Initiative exists. Our goal is to speak to an awakening generation and encourage them to think biblically, engage civically, and speak the truth boldly and confidently. We believe the call of every believer is to speak directly to the culture around them through the lens of the objective Truth that permeates who we are.
America, and the rest of the world, is at a crossroads. We all have seen the recent issues rear their heads.
Islam is rising, a direct opposition to biblical faith and a threat to our livelihood. Gender identity plagues our educational systems and is running rampant across college campuses. The "Third Way" movement within mainstream evangelicalism has begun to reveal itself among churches after Kirk's murder, suggesting Christians avoid polarization and emphasis on key political issues.
These are just a few of the glaring topics dominating the headlines in mainstream news. But often, Christians are uninformed, or even avoid the topics altogether. This is extremely dangerous in many ways.
Our hope is that the content we produce at Watchtower Initiative, whether it be articles or podcasts or events or merchandise, empowers you as a believer living in America and abroad to be emboldened to speak. Truth will always win, but if we stay silent, it will be inhibited in our own lifetimes. We truly believe our primary purpose in this world is to help Truth flourish so that our children and grandchildren can carry on the gospel of Jesus Christ.
As we watch the culture shift, we must always stand firm in truth and be willing to be active, not passive, while on that foundation. Matthew 6:33 reads, "Seek first the Kingdom and His righteousness." Seeking is an active, practical movement towards godliness in the life of a believer through the Spirit's power.
Let us watch, let us learn, let us engage, and let us change the culture around us for the glory of God.
